Charlottesville, VA (April 15, 2020) – Stony Point Development Group is excited to announce Dino’s Wood-Fired Pizza & Rotisserie Chicken, a new restaurant concept from chef Dino Hoxhaj, will be opening in Charlottesville, Virginia’s Dairy Market for the Fall 2020 launch of the destination’s first market hall. Dino’s will feature a state-of-the-art wood oven and rotisserie grill, as well as a bar to enjoy food and beverages.
Dairy Market, located in the historic Monticello Dairy building in downtown Charlottesville, is reviving a local community treasure and hometown favorite by bringing together a diverse variety of food and beverage, agriculture, Southern culture, history and arts, all under one roof. Dino’s is the latest addition to Dairy Market’s carefully curated selection of Virginia’s leading purveyors, culinary talents and artisans, who will showcase the unique array of flavors and artistic inspiration that sets Charlottesville apart.
Dino’s mission is to be community-driven, pro-local and eco-friendly—a casual meeting spot where diversity is celebrated, and healthy food made with fresh ingredients is served. The restaurant’s menu will offer a selection of wood-fired artisan pizzas and rotisserie chicken with flavors from around the world, along with a wide variety of gluten-free and vegan options, in addition to an assortment of hand-selected wines and beers.
“Stony Point Development Group is thrilled to sign on Dino’s to Dairy Market’s talented roster of merchants. Dino’s unique two-prong restaurant concept will continue to round out our diverse global cuisine and is a great addition to our highly-anticipated new shopping and dining destination,” said Stony Point President, Chris Henry. “Construction for Dairy Market remains ongoing and we are moving full-steam ahead in supporting our merchants and getting our market hall open for the fall. We are all excited to bring this development to fruition and celebrate the best of Charlottesville’s food and beverage under one roof.”
Dino Hoxhaj, the Executive Chef and Owner of Dino’s, grew up in the culinary industry and has always had a passion for food, working in his family’s bakery from a young age. Hoxhaj is originally from Kosovo and came to the U.S. as a political refugee in 2004, where he has lived in Charlottesville ever since. He previously worked at Whole Foods Market as well as a string of local Charlottesville restaurants before opening his own pizza restaurant, The Brick Oven, which he ran for the past three years. Hoxhaj recently sold the business to focus all his time and attention on his new restaurant in the Dairy Market. Hoxhaj selected the Dairy Market location to open Dino’s because the market hall reminds him of village squares in Europe – social, community hubs which bring a variety of small local merchants together in one place where food, friends and family can mingle. In his spare time, Hoxhaj enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids, fundraising for non-profits, hiking, engaging with the local community and practicing sustainability.
“I am excited to open my new restaurant in Dairy Market and I believe it is the perfect location to bring together two of my favorite food concepts under one roof – pizza and rotisserie chicken, with a global influence of flavors,” said Hoxhaj. “I consider Charlottesville my home and I am honored to join the existing group of talented local merchants to help showcase the diverse cuisine of the city. I look forward to continue working with the Dairy Market team on a successful launch this fall.”
