CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) — The Dairy Market is now open after a two-year wait.

It broke ground in 2018 and had numerous setbacks because of the pandemic.
On Tuesday, the market opened its doors to customers for the first time.
The Dairy Market is a new home to several new small businesses. There are currently seven out of 16 vendors open.
“There are 16 different vendors and the majority of those are food and food-related businesses. We do have some dry goods like a bottle shop, we have a bakery. We have a honey vendor that is coming in,” said Chris Henry, the Stony Point president.
As for the other nine vendors, they are expected to open mid-spring.
The facility is also working on an apartment complex and office buildings that will be called “Dairy Central.”
